Billy York was born in Oakland, Ca and raised in a little town called Catasauqua, just north of Philadelphia, Pa. After high school, he joined the Army and was stationed overseas in Germany and Saudi Arabia. After his military tenure, he attended the Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a BS in Business Supply Chain Management.

After several internships during his college days and working professionally with several corporations after he graduated, Billy couldn’t stand the corporate world any longer. He finally partnered up with his old friend, Nathan Peterson, a successful business owner in Los Angeles, with the intention of opening up more “Nathan’s Tattoos” parlours.

Billy left everything behind in New Jersey to become a professional body piercer and entrepreneur. He dove headfirst into the art of body piercing, working constantly to become one of the best in his field. On Sept 30, 2004, Nathan’s Anthems Tattoos and Piercings opened in Redding, CA. He is now a Red Cross Instructor teaching First Aid, CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens and he is a member of the Association of Professional Piercers. He attends and participates in many piercing conferences and advanced techniques body art seminars such as surface piercing, freehand piercing, genital piercing, single-point piercing, beading, suspension, branding and scarification.

Billy spends his copious hours concentrating on Nathan's Anthems and the Redding Ink Tattoo Convention as well as all the projects he and his business partner, Nathan, have going on. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his dog, Moose, his band, The Gamut, and harass his employees into being the best they can be.
